Palo Alto Networks CASB

About the product

Palo Alto Networks CASB acts as an intermediary between users and SaaS applications, integrating with the enterprise’s network and cloud infrastructure. CASB can be deployed as a cloud service or as part of Prisma SASE, working with Palo Alto NGFW and other Palo Alto Networks security solutions.

CASB scans all network traffic, enabling real-time detection and analysis of transmitted data, automatic identification of all SaaS applications used in the organization, regardless of ports and protocols, full visibility into the cloud environment, and detection of shadow IT.

CASB allows you to define detailed security policies that control which users can access what data and when. CASB integrates with Enterprise DLP, allowing you to identify and block the transfer of sensitive data, such as personal data, social security numbers, and financial information, both during transfer and storage. The solution uses a wide range of APIs to integrate with popular SaaS applications such as Google Drive, Box, and Salesforce, enabling security policies to be monitored and enforced directly at the application level, including blocking unauthorized sharing of files or confidential data.

CASB uses behavioral analysis mechanisms to detect unusual user activity or suspicious events, allowing for quick response to potential threats by automatically blocking or quarantining data when policy violations are detected, increasing protection effectiveness and reducing response time. The solution can be implemented as a proxy (forward or reverse), an agent on endpoints, or through integration with the network infrastructure, allowing it to be tailored to different environments and organizational needs.

CASB is part of the broader Palo Alto Networks security platform, allowing for implementation as a proxy (forward or reverse), as an agent on user endpoints, or through integration with network and cloud infrastructure, enabling comprehensive security management in a SASE model.
